Elk Ranch Academy is located in the foothills of the Platte River Valley of Southwest Nebraska . The Ranch is comprised of 3,600 acres of rolling hills, valleys and canyons and features 3 miles of lake frontage on Jeffery Lake.	Elk Ranch Academy provides the perfect place to remove boys from “modern” distractions and interrupt unsuccessful or at risk behaviors, while providing them guidance and instruction on how to make corrections. All this while experiencing the great outdoors and learning the "good old fashioned" ethics of hard work and hard play.	The Ranch features a 25,000 sq. ft. state of the art barn, wood shop and indoor arena. Elk Ranch continues to be a working cattle operation, as well as boasting herds of Elk, Fallow deer, Aoudad Sheep, Tur Goats, Pere David’s Deer and wild Donkeys, Feral Goats.

Elk Ranch Academy is more than a therapeutic wilderness program, boot camp, military school, or residential treatment center.

Elk Ranch Academy is an early intervention schools for troubled boys with academic, social and motivational issues. Elk Ranch Academy is a Christ-centered leadership school, that offers therapeutic services; All therapy or any other mental health service will be offered only by certified Therapeutic staff.

Elk Ranch Academy is a non-denominational Christian boarding school for boys ages 7-17. We focus on academics, Christian leadership, therapy and positive mentoring. Elk Ranch Academy is designed to be a small, home-like environment where we encourage emotional and spiritual growth through a process of adversity and hard work. E.R.A. does not cater to our students… we coach, teach, encourage, train, and compel. We expect the E.R.A. student to become self-motivated and governed by sound moral, spiritual, emotional and academic standards. Therefore, the accomplishments and future success of the E.R.A. students come from their willingness to invest themselves.

The truth is that E.R.A. is not "the answer"... most of our students have been taught the correct answers from infancy, they have simply gotten a little confused and frustrated by influences in the world around them and need to be reminded of who they are. We only lead the student to the answer, it is up to the individual student to apply what we teach. At Elk Ranch Academy we do not force any student to comply with the growth process or to excel academically. We coach them in such a way as to promote an internal drive to change. We desire that all improvements come from within the child, are driven by a true change of heart, as led by the Holy Spirit. The good news is that E.R.A. students come to realize that they don't need E.R.A. or the E.R.A. staff to be successful. They realize that God has blessed them and that He will help them to fulfill their greatness. We coach and train the E.R.A. student to trust and rely on their Heavenly Father.
