Schedules

Elk Ranch Academy features a supervised, involved program in which every boy participates.  Some activities are required, while others are earned.  Daily and Weekly programs involve household and individual hygiene responsibilities, ranch work, academic classes, physical activity, recreational periods, quiet time, and extracurricular activities.  The boys, individually and as a group, learn to be responsible for themselves and their belongings as well a sharing in the daily chores associated with both the house and ranch.  Students are always under the supervision of a life coach or therapist.

  Weekends

Weekends at Elk Ranch Academy are special!  This is when we plan all over night activities and off campus trips.  It is also a time when we do a lot of group activities.  We also use this time to do ranching work; moving cattle, hauling wood and construction projects.  Weekends are also used for community service and simple pleasures like going to the movies, or swimming in the lake.

Sundays are centered on Church in the morning; boys will either attend a local church or be treated to a guest speaker.  Sunday afternoons are set-aside for the boys to relax and enjoy.  They can use this time to write letters home, catch up on schoolwork and chores and for those that have completed everything, get out and explore the ranch.  Sunday evenings are for movies and video games (all movies and games are age appropriate).

Free Time

Elk Ranch Academy consists of over 3,600 acres, including 3 miles of lake frontage on Jeffery Reservoir, this combination allows us almost unlimited opportunities for outdoor experiences, such as horseback riding, hiking, fishing, swimming, camping, and outdoor cooking, just to name a few.  We also have an indoor basketball court and physical activities area.  The main barn features an indoor riding arena for times when the weather gets cold.  Free time at the ranch is very organized and is always staffed.  We truly believe in boys being boys and that by offering them exposure to different experiences it will help them to grow.
